A 3 year old little boy was playing outside his great-grandmother’s house with two other children when he apparently wandered off into the woods.
Hundreds of people, drones, helicopters and search dogs searched more than 1,000 acres (4 sq km) for the boy, but were unable to find him. Over the next few days, the area experienced freezing temperatures and heavy rain, and some began to fear the worst.
Two days later, a woman and an EMS Captain found the boy deep in the woods, soaking wet and tangled in thorn bushes. Rescuers waded through nearly waist-deep water to get to the toddler. EMS transported him to a local hospital. Aside from a few scratches, Casey is in good health and was reunited with his family who said he is in good spirits. The little boy told them he “hung out with a bear.”
