The Ghost Bat (Macroderma gigas) is the largest microbat in Australia and the second-largest in the world.
It is Australia’s only truly carnivorous bat- it eats large insects, small lizards and frogs, small birds and mammals, including other bats.
It is listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN

The Ghost Bat’s habitat is widespread across northern Australia, from arid areas to rainforest.
They give birth to a single pup in August or September.
