There are no medical benefits to circumsizing a child. 

A review by the American Academy of Pediatrics looked at all the data from the past decades to see if there truly were any medical benefits. Their conclusion – NO.

A circumsized penis is not cleaner than an intact penis. While a circumsized penis does not collect as much smegma underneath the foreskin like an intact penis does, it still needs to be cleaned regularly.

It is a myth that circumcision helps prevent STD’s.

It is myth that circumcision reduces risk of penile cancer.

It is a myth that circumcision reduces bladder or any other kind of genito-urinary tract infection. The foreskin is attached to the head of the penis (glans), and actually protects it from urine, feces, and irritation- keeping contaminants from entering the urinary tract.

Circumcision is genital mutilation. It reduces penile sensation by 10%. The foreskin protects the sensitive glans or head of the penis. With no protection, it rubs against fabric and becomes less sensitive. When someone cuts off their baby’s foreskin, they are reducing the sexual pleasure that person will get to experience. No one has that right. No one has the right to remove a body part from their child- it is primitive barbaric bullshit. Also, the procedure itself is very painful.

The only reason this practice is still around is due to ignorant religious custom and because unscrupulous medical people have made money off the procedure. Most of the world is not circumcized and today fewer and fewer people are circumcizing their children.

The idea that it is okay to mutilate a child’s genitals “so they won’t get teased” is insane. Reducing a person’s sexual pleasure and cutting off a body part is wrong- doing this so they can “fit in” is primitive and ignorant thinking. Besides, the practice has really lost popularity- fewer and fewer babies are being circumsized in the United States and elsewhere. In the rest of the world as of 2017, less than 30% of the world is circumsized. So genital mutilation of boys thankfully is in the minority now.

To circumsize a child “so he looks like his dad” is an equally ignorant and selfish line of reasoning. If you loved your boy and educated yourself, you wouldn’t want to cut off part of his body.

Bottomline- genital mutilation is a crime and it should be outlawed. Put an end to the outdated, unnecessary and inhumane medical procedure called circumcision.
