Great News from California: The largest unprotected old growth Giant Sequoia forest in the world was saved from logging; it will now be preserved as a national monument park. Donations from all 50 states & 30 other countries saved these trees!
Save The Redwood League raised $15.65 million to buy the 530-acre Alder Creek Grove, that includes the 3,000-year-old Stagg Tree — the fifth-largest tree in the world. Save The Redwood League received donations from 8,500 individuals and foundations in all 50 states and 30 other countries!
500 old-growth are trees nestled in the midst of a diverse, alpine forest virtually unknown to the general public- and it is saved forever now from logging and commercial destruction. It will become part of the Giant Sequoia National Monument.
